1991

  • Incorporated in Illinois, Connect became the first company devoted exclusively to the development of software solutions for wireless Auto-ID networks.
  • Introduced the first wireless network controllers with built-in diagnostics and remote support access.

1992

  • Awarded U.S. Patent 5,513,328 "Apparatus for Inter-Process/Device Communication for Multiple Systems of Asynchronous Devices" for the high speed, multi-protocol, hardware-independent software techniques employed in Connect networking products. Introduced the first fault resilient wireless network controllers.

1993

  • Relocated to larger quarters to accommodate rapidly growing engineering and production requirements.

1995

  • Expanded facilities to include a dedicated training and technical support center. Introduced the first Wireless Network Engineer training and certification program.

1997

  • Relocated corporate office and production facilities to larger quarters in Lisle, Illinois.
  • Shipped 5,000th system, bringing the number of wireless mobile end-users to an estimated 75,000 worldwide.

1998

  • Introduced PowerNet, the most comprehensive line of vendor-independent wireless network products and services in the industry.
1999
  • Completed development and testing for Release 6 of PowerNet for wireless systems. Added more terminals, printers and functionality to the entire PowerNet product line.
2000
  • Relocated corporate office and production facilities to larger quarters to accommodate our growth.
2003
  • Introduced OpenAir 400, a version of OpenAir Windows that loads directly on a customer's AS400 host.
2004
  • Completed development and testing for Release 7 of PowerNet for wireless systems. Added more terminals, printers, and functionality to the entire PowerNet product line.

2006

  • Completed development and testing for V8 of PowerNet for wireless systems, redesigning it to maximize the capabilities of today's CE-based data terminals.
